SolTech Energy has obtained an order for SolTech Supreme thin-film solar cells, valued at approximately 700,000 SEK (71,430 EUR), from Power Group S.A.S. located in Bogata, Columbia. This first order also serves as a possibility for greater collaboration in Columbia. This installation is intended to function as a test and demonstration installation for Power Group’s customers with an installed effect of 76.5 KW (76,000 watts). It consists of 900 SolTech Supreme solar cell panels and will be mounted on the facade of one of Power Group’s warehouses.
This Columbian business possibility has emerged out of SolTech’s network of selected agents, which constitutes an integral part of our low-intensive international SolTech Supreme marketing campaign. The main focus of the SolTech energy group is still directed on China, ShingEl and collaboration with Sapa Building Systems.
CEO Frederic Telander comments:
- ”We view the Columbian order as an interesting business possibility in a country located near the equator with a great deal of sun and an infrastructure under strong development. As compared with silicon solar cells, SolTech Supreme thin-film solar cells have a notably higher working effect in diffuse light, as well as being less sensitive to high panel temperatures and shade. The advantage of less sensitivity to panel temperature is particularly important in hot climate areas such as Columbia, where energy losses are significantly less for thin-film solar cells as compared with silicon solar cells. Briefly put, this means that in tropical and subtropical countries, thin-film solar cells can generate more produced kWh per installed watt on an annual basis.”
