Myresjöhus places a test-order for SolTech ShingEl

SolTech Energy has received a test-order from Myresjöhus for a SolTech ShingEl solar energy installation. This installation, which will have a capacity close to 6.4 KW (6,400 watts), will be assembled on a semi-detached house in the environmentally profiled Vallastaden project in Linköping, and consist of 170 SolTech ShingEl panels on an order valued at 219,000 SEK (23,000 EUR)

SolTech ShingEl is a unique combination of traditional roofing and electrical provision from the sun. The producti is fully compatible with Bender’s concrete Carisma shingles. Consequently, replacing any desired number of Carisma shingles with SolTech ShingEl shingles, thereby creating a roof that at the same time generates electricity, is simple and straightforward.

SolTech’s Technical section continuously works at further developing existing solar energy solutions, as well as the discovery of new solutions, that facilitate integration with the design of roofs and facades.

CEO, Frederic Telander comments:

  • Our plan is to officially launch ShingEl during the first quarter of 2016. That we are now taking on this test-order before the launching is very heartening. What is stimulating is not the size of the order, but its potential. Myresjöhus and Smålandsvillan are an integral part of OBOS Sverige AB, earlier BWG Homes, which is one of the leading actors in the Swedish market with annual sales approximating 2 Billion SEK (0.21 Billion EUR) According to Byggfakta (Building Facts) 2015, over the course of last year, Smålandsvillor built 506 homes and Myesjöhus 494, which together equates to a market share of circa 16.5 %. Here, there undeniably exists great potential for the future, and it is our considered judgment that SolTech ShingEl, looking a few years ahead, will take a given position in the market.

Stefan Eklund, Myresjöhus comments:

  • Myresjöhus have seen an increased interest in investment in solar with our customers and we think it looks interesting with this integrated photovoltiac solution. The criticism may be against solar cells of individuals is precisely the appearance of the roof.

The assortment of suitable glass also includes unique thin-film solar cells in black and/or semi-transparent glass – or as isolated glass modules in various sizes and formats that promote integration with a building’s outer shell.
